Currently, ServiceNow has a regular upgrade and release cycle that is documented on the ServiceNow Wiki under the Upgrades and the Release Cycle section. It is important to understand this process fully in order to have a stable production instance of ServiceNow. It is even more important to understand how to work with instances to ensure that internal development efforts and release processes take this cycle into account. Let’s start with a common understanding of the release types and move into some tips on how to best deal with upgrades from ServiceNow.
